as you write more procedures, group them. a "sales" parent page with "first call," "follow-up," and "close" as children is way easier to navigate than a flat list.

the highest-leverage tortoise pages are full role playbooks — every sop a new hire needs to do the job, all under one parent. a few hours of writing saves you from explaining the same thing 40 times.

tortoise's editor handles rich text — headings, bold, lists, links — and is forgiving when you paste content from a google doc or word doc.

every teammate on your cypress roster can read tortoise. you write the playbook once; new hires walk through it on day one.

tortoise saves about 800ms after you stop typing. you'll see "saving" briefly and then "saved" before it fades. there's no save button — leave the tab when the spinner goes idle and the latest version is on the server.

tortoise's editor supports inline marks (bold, italic, underline) and links via the formatting toolbar. shortcuts work the way you'd expect.

every page can carry an emoji that shows in the sidebar tree next to the title. helps you (and the team) scan a long page list visually.

tortoise pages soft-delete via archive. the page disappears from the tree but the content + revisions survive — restore it any time before you actually purge.

full-text search across every page is roadmapped. for now, browser find (ctrl/cmd-f) on a single page is the only way to search.

every save is snapshotted under the hood, but the version-history viewer to scroll through past edits and roll back hasn't shipped yet.

today only cypress teammates can read tortoise pages. external sharing (a public link for a vendor or contractor) is roadmapped.
