  1. 1

    open the contractor card

    find the contractor.

  2. 2

    tap "replace w-9"

the old w-9 archives on the card (kept for the audit trail). a new link mints — copy and send.

  3. 3

    they refill from scratch

the contractor fills a fresh w-9 with the new info. once signed, the new one becomes "on file."

    tip

the irs technically wants a fresh w-9 every time taxpayer info changes. for most contractors that's never; for some (got married, formed an llc), it happens once.
