the duplicate dialog opens
if vendor + date + total match a receipt you already saved, sassafras shows a "looks like a duplicate" prompt with a link to the existing one.

pick: open existing or save anyway
open existing is the right move 99% of the time — that's the whole point of the catch. save anyway is for the edge case where you legitimately bought the same thing twice on the same day.
tipduplicate detection is per-bucket. scanning the same receipt into two different buckets won't trigger the warning — that's intentional, since the same expense rarely belongs to two businesses.
