open mockingbird, edit the service. the "default deposit %" field controls how much of the line is collected on accept.

use "pick from catalog" to add the service. the deposit % copies onto the line — you can override it per quote if a particular customer is getting different terms.

when they sign, stripe charges the deposit. the deposit lands in your stripe account before the work even starts.
tipone-off services where the deposit varies by job — leave the default at 0 and set the deposit per quote. defaults work best for repeating service types where deposit policy is consistent.
