click "check now" — read the specific error
heron will say one of: dns not propagated yet, wrong a record, wrong cname, conflicting record. each one has a different fix.
- 2
if dns hasn't propagated, wait
10 minutes is usually enough. cloudflare propagates inside 5; godaddy can take an hour. if you just added the records, give it time before troubleshooting.
- 3
if the record is wrong, copy + paste again
the most common mistake is a typo or a stray space when retyping. delete the existing record at your registrar, copy the value from heron's copy button, paste fresh.
- 4
if there's a conflict, remove the old record
an old website or email service may have left an a or cname record pointing somewhere else. delete it; only one record per name can win.
tipif you've tried every fix and dns is still stuck after an hour, the issue is usually at the registrar level — open a support ticket with godaddy/namecheap/etc. heron is reading public dns; if heron can't see the record, no one else can either.
