watch the save indicator
the indicator at the top shows saving, then saved. once it says saved, you can close the tab.

open the post again later
every word, every image, every category pick is exactly where you left it.
tipthe editor doesn't punish slow internet. if a save fails, the indicator flips to error and the next change retries. nothing gets lost in the gap.
