set up your categories in whippoorwill
tap the categories button. add the buckets that match how you'll group your writing.

assign each post a category
in the post editor, pick from the category dropdown. unassigned posts still show but don't filter into any group.

magnolia renders the filter on the blog page
visitors see a list of your categories above the post grid. tap one to filter; tap "all" to see everything again.
