pawpaw

take a deposit before starting work

for jobs that need materials or a chunk of your time, ask for a percentage upfront. pawpaw splits one invoice into a deposit + balance so you don't have to track two separate bills.

3 steps~2 min
  1. 1

    open or create the invoice

either start a new invoice or open an existing draft. the deposit toggle lives below the line items.

  2. 2

    turn on "require a deposit"

set the deposit as a percentage (e.g. 50%) or a fixed amount. pawpaw shows the customer the full total but only lets them pay the deposit first.

  3. 3

    send

the customer pays the deposit through the same payment link. once you mark the work complete (or the deposit is captured), pawpaw sends them a balance-due notice automatically.

    tip

deposits hit your stripe balance the same as any other payment — there's no escrow. that money is yours the moment they pay.
