magpie

add variants for a product (size, color, style)

for products that come in versions — small / medium / large, red / blue / green — variants let you keep one parent product with one description and a row per variant. each variant has its own sku, barcode, price, and stock.

3 steps~2 min
  1. 1

    open the product

click pencil on the product row. the dialog has a "variants" tab.

  2. 2

    set up the option types

options are dimensions like "size" and "color". add an option, then list its values ("small," "medium," "large"). magpie generates a row per combination.

  3. 3

set sku, barcode, price per variant

each variant row has its own fields. you can override the parent's price ("large costs more"), set a unique sku ("SHIRT-LG-RED"), and assign a barcode for nightjar's scanner.

    tip

the line-item picker on pawpaw + mayhaw shows variants as nested options under the parent — pick "shirt," then "large red." no clutter at the top level.
