give every product a category
categories are free-text — "window glass", "power tools", "snacks" — whatever shape your business takes. set them as you add new products and the picker shows category chips you can filter by.

search anywhere by anything
the search box on the magpie page (and inside the picker) matches name, sku, category, AND description. so a product called "std-3-glass" finds it whether you remember the sku or just type "glass".

archive what you no longer sell
click the archive icon on a row to hide it from invoices and quotes without deleting the history. archived products don't appear in the picker but past invoices that used them stay intact.
tiparchive instead of delete if there's any chance you'll bring the product back — un-archiving restores it with the same price and id.
