set up phases (milestones)

long builds break into phases — design approval, materials ordered, frame complete, finishing, delivery. each phase has a target date so you can see if the build is on or off track.

    open the project, click the milestones tab

    this is where the phase list lives.

    add each phase with a target date

    the typical pattern: design approval → materials ordered → frame complete → finishing → delivery. add what fits the build — there's no fixed template.

    mark each one done as you finish

    the customer sees the phase progress in their yaupon portal — they always know where the build is without calling to ask.

    tip

    add a phase for "design approval" even if it feels lightweight. that's the milestone that shifts financial risk — once they sign off, scope changes are change orders, not free rework.
