build the materials list

every line item with quantity and unit cost rolls into the project budget — so you always see plan vs. actual without a separate spreadsheet.

    open the materials tab

    the materials list lives next to milestones and payments.

    pull line items from your magpie catalog

    if the part is in your magpie product list, pick it — qty + unit cost autofill. line totals roll into the budget total live.

    add miscellaneous items inline

    for one-off purchases that aren't in magpie, type the name, qty, and cost directly. they roll into the budget the same way.

    tip

    update unit costs as the build progresses. if walnut went up 15%, edit the line and watch the budget reflect it — surprises stay caught instead of showing up at the end.
