pick the right subscription kind (billing / job / appointment / order)

cardinal supports four kinds. picking the right one tells the suite which other module fires the actual occurrence on cycle day.

billing — recurring money
membership, retainer, monthly subscription. on cycle day, an invoice goes out. this is the most common kind.

job — recurring work
weekly mowing, monthly cleaning. the cycle day creates a crawdad job, not a charge. handy for service businesses where the work repeats but the price is per-visit.

appointment / order
appointment = recurring junebug booking. order = recurring product order. each kind is shaped for its own downstream wire.
tip
if you bill on a schedule AND do work on the same schedule, run two cardinal entries — one billing, one job. they don't double-track because each fires a different downstream module.
