date, amount, vendor, and category. categories follow your tax form so year-end is one click.

the entry posts to the ledger and the p&l immediately. it shows up with source = "manual" so you know it didn't auto-flow in.
tipfor receipts, use sassafras — the ai pulls vendor, date, total, and category from a photo. only use sycamore's manual log for things you literally can't photograph (a venmo to a kid for cleanup help).
