possum

set up your vault

create a master password and save your recovery codes. this is a one-time setup before you add any logins.

4 steps~3 min
  1. 1

    open possum

click "possum" from the app switcher. on first visit you'll see the setup screen.

  2. 2

    pick a master password

12+ characters. a passphrase like four-random-words is far stronger than a short password with symbols. write it on paper if you have to — losing it means losing the vault.

  3. 3

    (optional) add a hint

shown on the unlock screen if you tap "i forgot." don't put the actual password or anything that gives it away — "my dog's name + year" is bad. "the four-word phrase from the road trip" is fine.

  4. 4

    save your recovery codes

possum generates 10 recovery codes when you save. print them, save them in a password-protected file, or stash them in your phone's keychain. each code can be used once to recover access if you forget your master password.

    tip

zero-knowledge means we literally can't read your vault — and we can't reset it. the recovery codes are your only backup. lose both and the vault is gone for good.
