    katydid splits expenses into fixed (predictable) and variable (changing). the fixed tab is where rent, software, and insurance live.

    fill in the vendor ("office rent," "adobe creative cloud"), the amount, the day it hits, and the cadence (monthly, quarterly, annual).

    save

    katydid generates a sycamore journal entry on each cycle. you don't have to remember; the schedule fires on its own.

    tip

    set the day-of-month to when the bill actually posts on your books, not when your bank pulls it. if rent is due on the 1st but autodebits on the 3rd, use the 1st — that's when the expense was incurred.
