you're standing on a job and the customer asks if it's the same drill that was here last time. asset-tag and serial-number search are built for that exact moment.

    open the search box at the top of the equipment list

    search runs across name, asset tag, serial, make, model, location, and assignee.

    type what you've got

    if you can see the asset tag on the side of the rig, type it. if you can read the serial, type that. partial matches work — three or four characters is usually enough.

  3. 3

    open the card to confirm

    the card shows the photo, condition, and full history — including any past assignments to crawdad jobs. you've got the answer in 10 seconds.

    tip

    asset tags pay off when you have multiples of the same kind of tool. "bosch drill #3" lookup in the field is way faster than digging through serial numbers.
