cricket

create your first channel

channels are the rooms your team talks in. one per job, location, or department — whatever matches how the team actually works.

4 steps~2 min
  1. 1

    open cricket

    click "cricket" in the sidebar.

  2. 2

click the + in the channel sidebar

the plus button sits at the top of the channel list on the left.

  3. 3

name it and pick public or private

public means everyone on the team sees it. private is invite-only — useful for management, payroll, or sensitive client work.

  4. 4

    drop a starter message

an empty channel feels dead on day one. type a one-liner so the next person who clicks in sees something.

    tip

name channels by what they're for, not who's in them. "#smithfield-build" beats "#bob-jane-mike" — when the team changes, the channel name still makes sense.
